WOAH!!

WOAH WOAH!!

Okay, I'm cool, I'm calm.  And I'm back! :D  Not that anyone will read this.  lol .-.

I've been extremely busy, I got my license, got a truck, a totally awesome chevy ;) And a job!  And am now working towards my black belt in TaeKwonDo.  I've picked up the String Bass as a new instrument, still play piano, violin and trumpet.  I also play electric bass in a band with my best friend.  The band is called "No Longer Silent."  Which, I am working on writing a song with that title as...of...now.  Except, I switched to blog.  xD  So here is what I have of the song so far... It has no chorus, but I don't think it needs one... Your thoughts?

No Longer Silent                                                       By Justin Sterzer

We stand, we watch, we do nothing that we should,
we don’t fight, we don’t care, we don’t even see.
The bruises, the scars, who is to stop it? We could,
the sad eyes, the anxiety, its there, we watch them bleed.

Why don’t we stop, take a look around, what have we become?
Things are said, scars don’t heal, what have we done?  You may
think you’re cool, but you are nothing but a fool.

I’m no longer silent, won’t stand and watch as they fall to the ground.
No longer silent, don’t give up, don’t lose hope, don’t let go.
Sticks and stones, break their bones, words break hearts, even so,
You can be the difference, you can be the change, don’t lose hope.

                     Footsteps, entrance, father, distance.
Blind rage, tears fall, eyes stained, afterall.
Closer, hand raised, glass thrown, hands
                     stained.  Bleeding, crying, suffering, hiding,
cutting, lashing, trying, failing, wanting, needing
something, anything, anyone, to love, to care,
to feel, to share, to hold, to be bold, to be there,
to understand, to be no longer silent.

TEoV Excerpt #9

The horses steadily trotted on.  The sun had reached its peak and was slowly starting to fall.  They had been traveling for days without any events, lightly cheered by Winnie’s amazing hunting talents and Atti’s Flute; they camped, and rose the next day, and the next.  The horses tired and they walked, the horses left to rejoin the herd.  A sharp exclamation from Winnie made them turn, “I just twisted my ankle,” She told them, Cirindiel stooped to look, “Its fine,” She said her blue eyes flashing; he nodded, but kept a close eye on her.  They continued for several more days.

“I must—give in…” Winnie stumbled and fell; Cirindiel knelt down beside her, brushed her warm cheek and took off his tattered cloak and laid it under her head.  “She is right Cirindiel, we need water, if we don’t find any we will die,” Atti said.  Cirindiel knew he was right, “Stay here, I’m going to look around to see if there are any springs around here,” Cirindiel replied, Malladryl nodded already starting a fire.  Cirindiel walked and walked, straining to hear that precious sound of water, when he heard none he started back.  He heard a light rushing sound, turning towards the sound he started running, there! At last, a waterfall cascaded down into a crystal clear pool below! He turned and ran all the way back to camp.  Winnie still lay where she fell.  He skidded to a stop.  As soon as he stopped Malladryl got the fire started, a small flame slowly growing.  He kicked dust over it.  Malladryl looked up, “What do you think you’re doing?!” She snapped, “I found water!” He replied, he went over to Winnie, “Winnie? We’ve found water, can you walk?” He asked gently, Winnie moaned and feebly shook her head.  He slipped one arm behind her head and one under her legs and lifted her up.  She moaned a little.  “Come on guys, there is water this way, we can make camp in that forest over there, and there is a waterfall and a pool!” He remarked, Winnie smiled, “We... have to get there… first,” She mumbled, “We will,” He replied.  He led them through the forest; the waterfall could be heard ahead.   He laid her by the pool, and splashed water on her face, and dribbled some in her mouth, Malladryl drank without resting.   Atti watched for a moment.  When the others were done he walked to the waters edge and drank his fill. “Can I make a fire now?” Asked Malladryl, Cirindiel smiled and nodded, sitting up he grabbed Winnie’s bow, “What…are you…doing?” She asked grimacing, “We need food, I’m going to hunt,” He replied, “You stay and rest, your ankle his hurt badly,” He continued, she did not argue anymore.  It was just starting to get dark.  He strapped the bow to his back, and walked deeper into the forest.  He knelt down looking for signs of prey; there were deer and rabbit tracks everywhere.  “A deer would be nice!” He thought following one of the deer tracks in the mud, “Poor animal looks sick, its tracks are weaving back and forth,” He thought, “Should be an easy kill,” The tracks weaved left for several yards, then right, several yards.  “This doesn’t really look like deer tracks anymore; they look like they were put there by a hunter!” He slowed his pace, but kept following them.  He bent down to exam another track to make sure he was correct.  A voice sounded from behind a tree, “It’s a man! A man following a deer track,” The first voice said, “Aye laddie, I think he was hoping to find a deer, while we were trying to send a signal to Aragorn!” The second voice boomed loudly.  “Come out, friend or foe?” Asked Cirindiel, an elf stepped from out behind a tree, “Friend, if that be the way that you choose,” Replied the elf, Cirindiel nodded, “Ahhh, now I’m hungry thinking about deer,” A stout dwarf said stomping out from behind another tree.  “Legolos, can we please find something to eat, that man looks tasty!” He said grinning, Cirindiel took a step back, “Quiet Gimli, he is a friend,” The elf ordered.  The dwarf grumbled, “Fine, but I’m eating your lama’s bread,” Replied the dwarf.  “What are you doing here?” Asked the elf, Cirindiel cleared his head, “One of my friends has been injured and I was searching for food, they are camped by a waterfall, for are supply has gone out,” He told the elf, trusting fully in him already, he felt like he had seen him before, the elf nodded, “One of are fellowship has gone into these woods to look for water, have you seen him?” The elf inquired, Cirindiel shook his head, “May we come to your camp? Maybe he has found your water supply,” The dwarf said, Cirindiel nodded, “Of course, follow me,” He said leading them to the water-side camp.

Winnie blinked her eyes open and sat up.  A waterfall lay a few yards from where she lay, “Where am I?” she thought to herself, and then she remembered.  She had twisted her ankle badly a few days back, Cirindiel had gone off to look for water and had brought them here.  She examined her foot, it was really sore, she looked around the camp, Atti and Malladryl lay sleeping around the fire.  ”Cirindiel must still be out hunting,” she thought to herself, a rustle in the bushes alerted her, a man stepped out, “Mae Govennan,” The man said, Winnie gave a small wave of her hand, “Hello, who are you?” She asked, “I am Aragorn, I was following the sound of this water, it looks like it has been claimed already though,” He said gesturing towards the two sleeping, “No, it hasn’t, we are just staying for a few days until my leg heals,” She replied, “You are hurt?” He asked, she nodded, “It’s just a twisted ankle,” She insisted, at that moment Cirindiel came tromping through the trees, “Malladryl, I’ve found—“He stopped when he saw Aragorn, “Some friends,” He finished, “Aragorn!” The two newcomers shouted in delight, “Legolos! Gimli, my brothers, it is good to see you again!” He replied giving them each a hug, “So, this is Aragorn,” Cirindiel said, “Come, we shall feast tonight! And talk!” Aragorn replied, “Feast? We have no food,” Cirindiel said, “Not right now, but in a moment we will,” Aragorn said grabbing his bow, the three friends walked off.
He sat at the waters edge, feet dangling loosely in the water.  Malladryl sat next to him, “You ok?” He asked, she nodded, “It’s so pretty here, I wish we could stay forever!” she said, “I know,” he replied, she stood up and walked off in thought.  He got up and walked over to Winnie, “How is the ankle?” he asked, “It’s really sore,” she replied, he nodded and kneeled down, took his shirt off and tore it into strips, grabbing two thick sticks he wrapped one on each side of her leg, “What are you doing?” She asked, “It’s a splint; it will help it to heal faster, and hopefully, if it is broken, heal it correctly,” He said tearing the last bit of his shirt and wrapping the pieces around to hold it on.  “What about your shirt?” she pointed out, “It’s warm out, and I can go without it, “He said, Winnie smiled, “What?” He asked, she shook her head, “Nothing,” She replied.

The hunting trio returned; a great hunt they had had.  They sat the game on the fire, “They will be really good cooked slowly,” Said Aragorn, Cirindiel nodded; Aragorn stared at him for a moment, “Where is your shirt…?” Cirindiel nodded at Winnie’s foot, “Ah, I don’t have a shirt, but would a cloak do?” Aragorn asked, Cirindiel nodded, “That would be great!” He replied Aragorn walked over to one of his packs, pulled out a cloak and handed it to Cirindiel; it was hooded and had two embroidered wings flowing down the length of the cloak, “It is beautiful!” Cirindiel remarked, Aragorn nodded, “It is yours! Take it as a gift from the men of Bree!” He said.  Cirindiel couldn’t say thank you enough, although the cloak gave little covering, it was a gift of friendship that would last forever.

They rested for several days near the beautiful waterfall.  After the fifth day they left.  “Will you come with us?” Aragorn asked, “Where are you heading?” Malladryl inquired, “We are looking for four of our companions, they are small hobbits, one holds the power of the world with him,” Replied Legolos, Malladryl gasped, Winnie stood up, “Frodo! And Sam…!” She shouted smiling, “You know the lads?” Gimli asked, Atti nodded, “Yep, Merry and Pippin too!” Aragorn looked stunned, “Where were they headed?” He asked, Cirindiel pointed towards a mountain, “That way, towards that mountain covered in smoke,” Legolos started, “They are going to destroy the ring!” He shouted, Aragorn nodded, concern in his eyes.  Cirindiel shook his head, “I’m tired of being in the dark, tell us everything,” He said, Aragorn motioned for them to sit.  They obeyed.

“And we tracked them into this forest, and found you,” Legolos put in, “And I found Winnie,” Aragorn said.  Cirindiel sat in thought, Winnie’s eyes shined, Malladryl listened intently, and Atti clenched and unclenched his fists ready for any action.  Cirindiel stood up, “We’ll help you in anyway we can,” He said at last, Winnie jumped up forgetting her ankle “Yes!” She shouted excitedly, then wincing with pain sat down again.  “After, Winnie’s ankle is healed,” He added, “No need to wait,” Legolos said, “Malladryl can heal her,” He continued, “I can?” She asked, Legolos nodded, “You are a Rune-Keeper are you not? Or haven’t you learned to heal yet?” He asked, “I haven’t learned to heal, I thought I could only fight,” She said lowering her eyes, Legolos chuckled, “Try it, what do you do when you want to defend yourself?” He asked, Malladryl thought for a moment, “I think about my enemy falling, and I stand up in victory,” She said, Legolos nodded, “Do as you would that, except think about healing instead of destroying,” He said his eyes twinkling, Malladryl nodded and grabbed her runes, she stood before Winnie with arms outstretched and eyes blazing,  “Allath gonaer eltoro,” She whispered closing her eyes, A bright light flashed, it wrapped itself around Winnie, pulling her up, spiraling into the air, she disappeared..  It flashed brightly again and Winnie reappeared laying on the ground, Legolos went over to her and looked at her leg, “It is healed,” He replied looking up, Atti nodded, “Nicely done Malladryl,” He said winking at her.

TEoV Excerpt #8

Winnie arrived back with their supper in hand.  They cooked the rabbits, the four hobbits leisurely pulled out their pipes and lay back against the trees that they had made their camp in between.  Malladryl sat down by Cirindiel.  “I’m sorry, I don’t know how we got separated,” He said, Malladryl crossed her legs and nodded.   “I guess I just fell asleep,” He continued.  Again Malladryl nodded, “She’s cute,” She replied, Cirindiel looked at her in surprise, “What!?” was all he could say.  She smiled, “I’ve see the way you watched over her during the battle with the Orcs,” She replied.  Cirindiel nodded, “Yeah, what about Atti huh?” He replied, Malladryl blushed, “Hmph,” She replied, “Now that’s not fair,” Cirindiel smiled, “It’s as fair as Winnie and I,” He said slapping her playfully on the back.  “Yes, but Atti and I will never be able to be together,” She shot back, eyes worried.  Cirindiel cocked his head, “And why not?” Malladryl bowed her head, “I’m an elf, he’s a man,” She said.  Cirindiel sat in thought.  “Yes, but you’re no longer under Elrond’s authority,” He replied pulling her close, “We’ll just have to see what happens,” He said laying his head against hers.

They woke up the next day, strengthened from the meal.  “I thank you for helping us find our companions,”  Pippin began, “What Pippin is trying to say is that our path will sadly not continue with you, we must go on alone,” Said Frodo, “You said we could go with you!” Cirindiel said, “No, just trust us, you cannot go where we must,” Sam replied, Cirindiel and Winnie nodded to their former companion, Sam spoke again, “If you ever cross a dwarf, an elf, and two men traveling looking for us, tell them we are safe,” He told them, doubt flickered for a moment in his eyes, and left a moment later.  Malladryl nodded, “We will tell them! It was great traveling with you Pippin, and you Merry, we will never forget you,” She said hugging them, “I doubt any of you’ll forget us,” Frodo mumbled, Winnie shot a glance at Cirindiel, he nodded.  “Malladryl is right, we will not forget you,” He hugged Frodo and Sam in turn, and then Pippin and Merry, “I’m ever so glad we could help,” Winnie smiled and shook their hands, Atti stood back at a distance leaning against a tree, “It was fun hobbits, thanks for the pipe-weed,” He said nodding politely, The four hobbits lingered a moment, then turned and left.  Cirindiel watched them go, suddenly a scene flashed before his eyes:  A golden ring, two hobbits climbing a mountain, a battle: An elf, a dwarf and man, fighting side by side.  A huge eye flashed before his eyes.  He fell back in shock, he cried out.  Malladryl spun around; Atti lunged forward and grabbed his arm trying to pull him up.  He lay there with his eyes staring straight up.  The scene continued:  Two hobbits lay on a rock, eagles carrying three elves, four men, and a dwarf, two of the elves were Winnie and Malladryl, and two of the men were Atti and himself.  The other elf had long blond hair with a ponytail down the middle; he carried to small swords and a bow.  The dwarf was in full armor, his hair was red and long, kind of curly, a beard also red was tied in two braids.  The man carried a bow and a sword, a hooded cloak blew out behind him, his hair was brown, his face was lightly wrinkled and although rugged, was quite handsome.  The other man looked old, but he wasn’t, he had white hair down to the middle of his back, he wore a pointed hat and carried a staff, almost like Cirindiel’s.  The eagles swooped down and picked up the hobbits, Cirindiel’s head cleared, he woke up…

“Did you really see all that?” Winnie asked after he had told them everything he had seen.  Cirindiel nodded, “And were we really there?” Atti inquired, again he nodded.  Cirindiel stood up, “We need to go, we need to cover a little ground before it gets dark,” He said strapping his staff to his back.  Winnie picked her bow up and strapped it to her back also, Malladryl picked up her satchel and strapped it to her belt, and Atti picked up his flute and slipped it into his belt.  “I’ve got a surprise,” Said Cirindiel kicking out the fire, and walking out of the little forest.  He jump onto one of the boulders and stuck two of his fingers in his mouth and whistled so loud that they covered their ears and cringed.  After his whistling stopped a loud thundering came.  A herd of horses galloped over a hill, a cloud of dust trailing behind them.  Winnie jumped up and down and clapped, “No more walking!” She shouted, “Choose!” Said Cirindiel patting a brown horse with a white patch and black spots on its backside, he jumped up and landed on its back, the horses didn’t fidget or budge.  “How did you find them?” Atti asked, “I went exploring one night when you were sleeping, they’re quite unafraid of us,” He replied.  Winnie jumped onto a brown mare, the mare turned her head and snuffled Winnie’s hair, she giggled.  Atti ran around the herd that stood there, examined several, and settled on a gray speckled with white stallion.  Malladryl quickly chose the first one she saw, a palomino.  She mounted and Cirindiel slowly trotted west.  Winnie trotted up beside him, and smiled.  Atti galloped ahead a few paces and turned around on the horse, riding backwards he pulled out his flute and started playing a merry tune.

TEoV Excerpt #7

Malladryl ran ahead, jumped onto the edge of the cliff and stared down, her elf sense kicking in she saw far down in the valley below.  “There he is! But—who is that with him?” she thought, she ran back to the group huddle by the fire, “I’ve seen them! They’re down in the valley below! We must not tarry here any longer,” She explained to them, Pippin nodded, “Let us go,” He said.

“I feel we are being watched, we must move on, I don’t like being in this open area,” Frodo said looking around, Cirindiel sat up from the fire and stretched, “Sounds good, the sooner we find Malladryl, the better,” He said picking up his staff and setting it in its now familiar holster.  The four set out, walking briskly towards Bree, “I told Malladryl if we ever got lost that we should meet there,” Cirindiel said, “Right,” the hobbits said and continued walking.  Cirindiel caught Winnie’s eye, she smiled, looked away and walked on.

“Hurry hobbits! They’re leaving camp!” Cried Malladryl ushering the hobbits down the cliff one by one, Pippin, who was huffing and puffing, laughed, “Easy for you to say Miss Elf, you were born with cliffs, what I wouldn’t do for my after breakfast muffins!” Merry nodded in agreement, Malladryl raced ahead; she somersaulted off the side of the cliff to land on a boulder near the bottom, “Come on hobbits almost there!” She exclaimed, “They’re close,” Atti said picking his way through the brambles, the hobbits ran from out behind a boulder mumbling something about midday snacks, Atti stopped and suddenly they ran into him, Pippin fell down, and Merry shouted, Atti smiled, “’bout time,” He said.

Cirindiel kneeled down, examining a track, “Orcs went by this way, fresh too,” He told the group that walked up behind him,  Sam shivered, “Hope they’re gone,” Cirindiel stood up, Winnie was gone, “Winnie! Winnie where are you!” He shouted, Sam and Frodo, frightened drew their swords.

“What’s that!?” Asked Merry who picked his pace up to walk beside Atti, “I don’t know, I heard it too,” He said, he stopped, “Malladryl! Come quick! Are these Cirindiel’s footmarks?” he asked, Malladryl ran up, “Yes! I knew he came this way!” She replied, a groan came from Pippin, “No, not them again,” Merry’s voice behind them, they turned, there! Fighting was Cirindiel! And three others that she did not recognize, Pippin gasped, “Frodo! And Sam!” he exclaimed, Pippin and Merry ran towards them, “Hobbits!” Malladryl called and ran after them, Atti followed.

Winnie screamed, Cirindiel drew his staff as she slid from behind a boulder, “Orcs!” She cried, she stopped next to Cirindiel, breathing hard to catch her breath, she then grabbed her bow and readied an arrow, an Orc flew around the corner with sword raised above his head, she let loose her arrow, it whizzed past Cirindiel’s head an inch away and struck the Orc down.  Several more followed, she loosed arrow after arrow, “Yeeeaaaaaah!”  Sam shouted, charging into the fray.  Cirindiel summoned his fire and wind; Orcs fell to flames, and wind slowed them severely, arrows struck hard, and Sam’s warrior like blows also met their mark.  A loud yell made him turn, two more hobbits were charging toward them, swords drawn, a man followed behind wielding a flute.  Then he saw her, Malladryl ran after the hobbits, runes in hand. Already her eyes were turning red.  Lightning shot out of the ground, and from the sky, striking the Orcs down, Cirindiel turned to continue fighting.  Swords clashed, fire and wind and lightning blew and zapped.  Frodo and Sam, Pippin and Merry fought side by side.  Winnie and Malladryl nodded to each other, acknowledging a fast friendship.  They fought side by side also, as did Atti and Cirindiel.  Orcs fell, one by one.  When all of them were finished off, the group wearily sat down.  Winnie gathered wood and made a fire, “I’ll go hunting, since I’m the only one with a bow,” Winnie announced, she got up and left.  The gathered friends hugged, and introduced each other; “Mae Govennan” Malladryl said politely, Frodo and Sam nodded.  They all sat down and waited for Winnie to return.  Cirindiel fell asleep.

TEoV Excerpt #6

Malladryl stood up, “Thank you for the food, but I have to find Cirindiel,” She said to Atti, Atti nodded, “May I come with you?” He asked, “Come with me? Aren’t you a slave to Berethor?” She asked, Atti nodded, “But if I tell him it is to help you, then he’ll let me go free! Oh please Malladryl; this is my chance to be free!  I’m really good at healing people, they call me a minstrel, I play flute and it makes people faster in speed, and it even heals them!” He cried, “Ok, you can come, but ask Berethor first,” She directed, Atti nodded, “I will!”

“Winnie, I free you from your slave duties, and as a gift, I give you my bow, I wish you luck in your new adventures!” Said Laedin, Winnie bowed, “Thank you Master Laedin, you were like a father to me, I will never forget you,” She replied, Laedin laughed heartily, “You will always be welcome here little one!”   Winnie looked at Cirindiel, strapped the bow to her back and followed him.

“Of course I’ll let you go Atti!  You have served me well! I wish you a safe journey!” Announced Berethor, “I shall not fail Master,” replied Atti kneeling, “Of course you won’t, you are a good lad,” replied the king, “Goodbye!” Atti got up and hugged King Berethor and followed Malladryl, “I will not forget you!” He said, “Nor I! You will always be welcome here Atti!” Replied Berethor, Atti smiled, turned around and disappeared.

“So where are we going?” Asked Winnie cheerfully, “I don’t know Winnie, we have to find Malladryl soon, I hope she is ok,” He replied, “She is, I can feel it,” Winnie said encouragingly.   “I hope so,” He replied.  They walked on and on, “Cirindiel! Cirindiel I’m tired, can we stop for a few?” Asked Winnie, Cirindiel nodded and sat down, “Can you make a fire?” she asked, Cirindiel nodded, “I’ll go see if I can find something to eat then,” She replied grabbing her bow and walking off.   Cirindiel sighed and started looking for the wood for a fire, “Where are you Malladryl?”  He thought to himself, “Look at this tree, it looks like it will make a good fire!”  He thought starting to break off twigs and small branches.  He stopped, “What was that?”  He thought, “Who’s there?” He asked, “Hallo there! Who might you be?” Two hobbits stepped from out behind some bushes, “I’m Cirindiel, who are you?” Cirindiel asked, the first hobbit looked at the other and whispered, then nodded, “My name is Samwise Gamgee, and this is my companion Frodo Baggins,” He announced.   Cirindiel nodded, “Nice to meet you! Where are you going?” he asked, “We’re on a special mission,” Said Frodo, “Have you seen an elf around here?” He asked, “Yes, we have! She was walking to the east!” said Samwise, “Thank you! Will you stay for supper?” Cirindiel asked, at that moment Winnie walked into the clearing with several rabbits, “Why hello there!” She said, “Winnie, this is Frodo and Samwise, they are traveling like us!” Cirindiel said, “Please call me Sam!” said Sam, “We’d love to stay and eat, if its ok with your friend here,” Said Frodo, “Of course it is!” Said Winnie, Frodo and Sam smiled and sat down, “Thank you; you don’t know how welcome this is,” Frodo replied, Cirindiel and Winnie exchanged a glance and sat down.

Chords slowly drifted on the air, Atti sat on a log playing his guitar, “Will we ever find them Atti?” Malladryl asked, Atti looked up from his playing, played for a few more minutes then stopped, “Yes, we will,” he said.  Malladryl nodded, “We have a big day tomorrow, we should get some sleep,” She said, Atti nodded, “Go ahead, I can keep a lookout for a little longer,” He replied starting to play again, “Ok,” Malladryl said drifting off.

Something was poking her; she opened her eyes, “Uh? Wha-??”  She murmured, “Malladryl, we have visitors,” Atti told her; she sat up and looked around, straightened her blond hair and stood up.  Two hobbits sat on the other side of the fire; they were smoking pipes and looking around, “Nice place you got here!” Said one, “Aye, very nice indeed!” said the second, the second swung his feet back and forth, and the first stood up, “Forgive me, my name is Peregrine Took, and this is my friend Merriadoc Brandybuck!”  Said Peregrine, “Hello, nice to meet you, what can we do for you?” Asked Malladryl, “Not a thing, we are just passing through, we lost two of our other companions, two hobbits, a small one, scared looking,” He said, cocked his head and laughed, “And then there is Sam, he is as strong as a bull, watch out if you cross him,” Merriadoc finished crossing his arms and smiling, Malladryl nodded, “We’re looking for my friend also, have you seen him in your travels?” She asked, Peregrine looked at Merriadoc, “Ho now, we might be able to help each other, how about we travel together?” Asked Peregrine,  Malladryl looked at Atti, Atti nodded, “Agreed, we will travel together,” she said, “I’m Malladryl, and this is Atti,” She continued, Peregrine and Merriadoc nodded, “You can call me Pippin, ” replied the little hobbit “And call me Merry if you don’t mind,” Continued Merry, they smiled and handed them a pipe each, Malladryl smiled: “They’re prepared for everything!”  She thought.

“Come with us! We would love to have you stay,” Said Winnie, Frodo shook his head, “As Sam said, we’re on an important mission, we cannot fail,” He explained, “Please come with us, just until we find Malladryl! We can help you!” Cirindiel suggested, Sam looked at Frodo, “We were meant to go in a fellowship of 8, we left the others because it got too dangerous,” Sam told them, “We don’t want anything to happen to you, we would feel terrible,” Frodo explained, Cirindiel shook his head, sighed and said, “Malladryl and I have nothing to live for, I don’t know about Winnie, but—“ “You’re not leaving me behind!” Interrupted Winnie,  Cirindiel nodded, “Stay, a day or two, please,” Said he, Frodo sighed, “It will not matter much for a day or two,” He said, “We will stay.”

TEoV Excerpt #5

They walked for hours with no meeting of any human or elf.  They stumbled onto a sign, it read: “This way to Bree,” They followed the directions, “Maybe we can find shelter,” Cirindiel pointed out.   As they headed in the direction of Bree, they found a path, the sun started to set, “We’d better hurry,” Malladryl said, Malladryl yawned and sighed almost at once, “Do we need to rest?” Cirindiel asked, “No, no I will be fine, let us not tarry here any longer, for I fe—“ She was cut off by a crashing in the undergrowth behind them, five men stepped out, in ragged clothes and knifes.  “Well, ye look at them here, all alone, and a might pretty one too,” Said the first pointing to Malladryl, “Touch her and you’ll die,” Cirindiel challenged stepping forward, “I may be tired but I will defend her with my life,” He continued, the men started laughing, they pulled their knifes out and shouted words that he didn’t understand, they ran at him, he dodged to the left, pulled out his staff and thwacked one on the head, the man reeled and fell non-moving.  “Anyone else want some?” Cirindiel asked.  The four men looked at each other, and ran off.  Cirindiel nodded and put his staff on its back holster.  “You’re right, let us go,” He replied putting his arm around her and looked warily around.  By this time the sun had gone down, and so had the temperature.  “If we don’t hurry we’ll freeze Cirindiel!” She cried, he nodded and pulled out his staff, “I summon a companion of choice, a horse of the swiftest travel will be mine,” He chanted.  A loud thundering came.  A beautiful blood red stallion came galloping up and over the hills that the sun had just gone down from; he looked like a black shadow.  He stopped and they mounted, “Sleep, and I will protect you and bring us safely to where we are meant to go,” Cirindiel said.  She slept and they galloped towards their destiny.

She woke up to the shining sun outside an open window.  She sat up and rubbed her eyes, looking around, she got out of bed and dressed and opened her door.  She was met by a boy, “Hallo!” Said the boy almost spilling the milk he carried, “I am sorry, did I startle you?” Asked Malladryl, “No, I knew you were here, I just didn’t expect you to be up so soon!” The boy replied, he had light brown hair and blue eyes, and freckles uncountable across the middle of his face, “Where is Cirindiel?” Malladryl inquired, “Who? We know of no such man,” The boy replied.  He led her down a narrow hallway; a window on the wall was bordered by the most beautiful gold curtains she had ever seen.  A beautifully shining sun rose slowly up one of the hills.  “Where am I?” She asked, “You are in King Berethor’s halls,” The boy replied, “King Berethor?” She inquired, “Yes, the elf-lord of Valantria, the wisest, and most generous, king ever,” Replied the boy.   Malladryl wondered how they had arrived in this wonderful place.  The boy opened a door and Malladryl followed him, “What is your name?” She asked.  The boy tilted his head to the side, “Its Athindhel Yellowfang, but most people call me Atti, what is yours?” He asked, “Malladryl Willowpelt rune-keeper of Vaslantis, but most people call me Malladryl,” She winked well humouredly.  “Are you hungry?” asked Atti, Malladryl nodded and Atti led her to the kitchen.

He woke up with a start, he immediately felt his back for his staff, it was gone.  He leapt out of bed, and ran across the room to where his clothes hung, looking around wildly as he dressed, hoping nobody had seen him.  He let out a relieved sigh, at the same moment a she-elf walked in, she had blond hair and big blue eyes that shone brighter then the stars, the elf giggled seeing him half dressed.  “You could at least have the decency to knock!” He said, the elf’s cheeks turned rosy and she replied, “I’m sorry, I thought you were still asleep,” Cirindiel nodded and shoved his shirt over his head and put the staff in its holster, “Where am I anyway?’ He asked looking around.  “You are in Laedin’s palace in Gaelorian,” She said, “Where is Malladryl?” He asked, “Malladryl? We only found you, Laedin explicitly said for you to have the best room,” She replied, Cirindiel shook his head, “I shouldn’t have fell asleep, I should have stayed awake!” He shouted, “I am very sorry; it would help if we knew your name,” She asked, “Its Cirindiel, Cirindiel Whitestorm, Lore-Master of Vaslantis,” He told her, “Right,” she motioned for him to follow her, “What’s your name?” He asked, “My name is Winifrede Silvertongue, but they call me Winnie,” She replied.  “Are you hungry?” She inquired, Cirindiel nodded, she led him down a hallway, she opened the door and let him in, the room was a garden; birds chirped and flitted back and forth, a lone fountain stood in the middle, making it sound like a river was near.  She set him at a table and said “Wait here, I’ll bring you some food,” She walked away briskly and returned a few minutes later with plates of food, “Here you go, orders by Laedin himself!” She smiled and handed him the plates, she sat down across from him, and he said a little prayer and began to eat.  “So how old are you?” He asked through a mouthful of eggs, she smiled “I’ll be 20 tomorrow,” She announced, “After that, I won’t be a slave anymore,” She added, “My friend and I are 20,” He replied, “What happened?” She asked, Cirindiel laid down his fork, “We were kicked out of our home,” He bowed his head, “We were on our way to Bree when we were attacked by thieves, I fought them off but we were so tired, then you found us,” He said,  She nodded, “You’re welcome to stay here for as long as you like,” She told him, Cirindiel nodded, “Thanks, but I need to find Malladryl as soon as possible,” He replied, “Wait until tomorrow then? I will come with you! I’m very good with the bow!” She said starting to get excited, Cirindiel took a moment to think, then nodded, “Ok, tomorrow we will leave,” He said, Winnie jumped up and clapped her hands, “Yay!” she shouted, Cirindiel laughed.
